I've no idea how long this interactive guide to Tutankhamun has been present on the National Geographic website, but I've only just found it. Apologies if it is old news to some visitors, but for anyone else, this is well worth a look if you have both Macromedia Flash, and a high speed connection. The first section, Journey into the Afterlife is an audio visual guide of the tomb itself, and takes you wall by wall through the paintings, explaining what they depict. The second section, Royal Wrappings, is my favourite, a computer simulation of the shrines and coffins starting off with the outer shrine and peeling it, Russian Doll style, all the way through the shrines, the sarcophagus and the coffins to the mummy itself. Finally, there is High-Tech Forensics, which gives an audo visual guide to the CT Scan of the mummy itself.
