"Tutankhamun and the Golden Age of the Pharaohs set an astonishing record for attendance, about 650,000 visitors flocking to gaze at gold and jeweled artifacts from the royal graves of Egypt's 18th Dynasty.The exhibit garnered a million dollars' worth of renovations by way of a county grant and a loan from the Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention and Visitors Bureau. Memberships have soared. Most significant is how Tut and his famed trove have spotlighted the museum and forever changed it."
