Exhibitions: Great Discoveries from the Petrie Museum

It is nice to see that the labouriously named exhibition Excavating Egypt: Great Discoveries from the Petrie Museum of Egyptian Archaeology is still getting good publicity as it continues on its travels around the U.S.. This piece gives a brief background to the Petrie Museum at UCL (London, UK) and gives a short description of the exhibition: " The exhibit at Mount Holyoke traces the development of Egyptian archaeology from its beginnings in the 1880s to the present through materials amassed by the Petrie Museum. On view are more than 220 of the Petrie's most important objects, in addition to selected small objects in a companion show of the museum's own Egyptian art."
