Daily Photo - Hatshepsut Red Temple at Karnak

A number of people have said that there are not enough photogrphs on the blog. The problem is, of course, that I have no rights to the photos that accompany the news items that I cover, and would be violating copyright if I reproduced them without permission. But I agree that a few more pictures would liven things up a little, so I'm going to upload a different photograph from my own collection every day - either from Egypt or from museum collections. I will try to make them relevant to any of the news items that I post, but if I can't then I'll simply post something nice!

Here's the first pair - there's nothing more topical than Hatshepsut at the moment, so this is a photo of Hatshepsut's Red Chapel at the Karnak Open Air Museum in Luxor, named for its walls of red quartzite.
