I've been enjoying your blog for quite some time, and wanted to say thank you for all your work on it - and I, too, love these kinds of pictures.
I am so pleased that you like this type of picture. I have never been able to put my finger on why I like them so much. It is not just that we are looking at the height of ancient and modern skills in the same photograph - it has something to do with the simultaneous bridging of time and the staggering contrast between the two pieces of technology.
