Exhibition: Isis going to Mexico

State Information Service

I suspect that, in spite of the title shown on the SIS post, the exhibition is actually Isis and the Plumed Serpent, which has been opened in Monterrey in July 2007. As Monterrey is actually in Mexico I am also assuming that this refers to a change of location - but I have been unable to find out where. Let me know if you find out!

Culture Minister Farouk Hosni will open the Egyptian artifact exhibition in Mexico in March.

The "Isis and the Weathered Cobra" will showcase 144 artifacts.

The masterpieces date back to Pharaohnic, Greco and Romanian epochs.

Secretary General of the Supreme Council of Antiquities Dr Zahi Hawwas said Egypt will receive $1.6 million in premimum for the exhibition.

Some five million people are expected to visit the exhibition, Hawwas noted.

He said Egypt has received many European and American requests to host such mobile Egyptian exhibitions.
