Egypt State Information Service

A total of 123 projects will be carried out to establish resorts with 43,000 tourist rooms on the North Coast, said Matrouh Governor Mohamed El-Shahat.

The projects will create 72,000 job opportunities during the coming three years, Shahat said at a meeting of the board of investment trustees. Some 496 investors applied to clear landmines planted in one million feddans on the North Coast, the governor said.

The landmines were planted in Egypt more than 50 years ago, during World War II.
