According to the official MENA News Agency, satellites and remote sensing technology are going to assist Egypt in the discovery and recovery of antiquities.
Abbas Zaghloul is an official with that country's National Authority for Remote Sensing and Space Sciences, as well as with the Supreme Council of Antiquities (SCA). He was quoted as saying feasibility studies have already been carried out and the SCA will host a seminar that's also being jointly organized by two, Japanese universities, to discuss this subject next February. Various international experts will be invited to attend. This two day seminar will review remote sensing technology applications, according to Zaghloul.
