Trivia: Givori launches limited-edition Nefertiti phone

Kipp Report

If you are searching for an Eid al-Adha gift, look no further. So says Axiom, which has just come out with its “latest must have mobile phone for fashionistas.”

The limited edition Nefertiti phone has been “inspired by the great royal wife of the Pharaoh known for her beauty throughout Egypt,” and “exudes the decadence and mystery of a bygone era.” To be fair, it reminded Kipp of our childhood when we played with colored stones and beads.

The individual pieces feature “true vintage 1930’s collectables made in England, and 24 karat gold coated Swarovski crystals.” Is there a risk of maiming your face if you press the phone to your ear?

This “exquisite” phone costs AED16,300, and if you want to gift it during the Eid festival (which symbolizes the sacrifice that Abraham was willing to make), then you better buy it quickly, only 50 were produced.

Dubai: Givori, an UAE-based firm specialising in luxury accessories for mobile phones, has exclusively launched its limited edition Nefertiti phone, inspired by the ancient Egyptian queen.

Only 50 Nefertiti phones have been created, each one marked with its own limited edition number. The units will be sold in the UAE for Dh16,300, and three have already been sold.

The phones, meticulously handcrafted to ensure that no two are alike, feature 24 karat gold-coated Swarovski crystals on the Nokia 8800 Arte.

"The Givori phones target a specific type of person who enjoys purchasing luxury products and who likes to have the most up-to-date style items," said Amine Aoude, Brand Manager of Givori.

See the above for further details. The one above looks absolutely horrible to me. The kids at my local ecological park did a similar but much more attractive job of putting glass beads into paving slabs to decorate the entrance to the volunteers' hut - with no pricetag attached - but each to their own!
