A lot of the Karkur Tahl rock art (northern Uweinat) is painted
under overhangs. This was a particularly good location with some
wonderful paintings, but as you can see it required a
horizontal viewing pose.
From left to right: Kathryn, Emma, Harry, Essam and Maged
the latter enjoying himself far too much :-)
I learned a very good new word in Egyptian Arabic from Essam for describing those
who fail to treat the rock art with respect but Maged, on hearing me practising
my new found piece of vocabulary, expressed horror and told
me to forget it immediately.
