9th International Symposium: Origin and Early Development of Food Producing Culture In Northeastern Africa – 30 years later
(Poznań, 3 - 7 July, 2011)

1st Circular

The present letter is an invitation to the ninth successive conference, following the “Dymaczewo Conference” in 1980, as always devoted to the prehistory of Northeastern Africa.

The Symposium is organised by the Poznań Archaeological Museum and the Institute of Archaeology and Ethnology of the Polish Academy of Sciences, Poznań Branch. Archaeologists and specialists from other fields of research (geomorphology and geology, human ecology, climatology, archaeobotany, archaeozoology, physical anthropology etc.) working in Northeastern Africa and neighbouring regions, as long as their work is topically connected, are invited to attend.

The Symposium will be held on the premises of the Poznań Archaeological Museum. The Museum is located at the corner of the mediaeval Old Market Square, in a beautiful and attractive setting. The Participants will be accommodated in hotels, pensions situated in the vicinity of the Museum.

The deadline for submitting papers is December 31st 2010. The duration of the presentation shouldn’t exceed 20 min for one paper. Poster session is also planned.

The conference fee is 100Euro.

Details as to the accommodation and costs will be forwarded in the Second Circular, which will come in due course to those who return the enclosed Registration Form.
