Trivia

Another poor week for trivia, but I particularly liked this idea:

I don't report on lectures and seminars because EEF already provide this information and do a better job of it than I could, but this brilliant item jumped out at me in the Adult Education Programmes side-column on the Houston Chronicle's Nesperennub report: "A mock mummy unwrapping and dinner is scheduled at 7 p.m. Oct. 18, at the Black Labrador Pub, 4100 Montrose. In the Victorian age, British aristocrats impressed their dinner guests by purchasing a mummy to unwrap. Eventually tickets were sold to the events that attracted hundreds to auditoriums. This event will simulate such an occasion".
