Too long a wait for Tut

A criticism of the management of ticket queues on the Miami Herald's Opinion page: "I recently tried to visit the King Tut exhibit at the Museum of Art in Fort Lauderdale. I purchased tickets for 5 p.m. Two hours later, my 84-year-old mother and I still were standing outside waiting to get in. We were told that our wait would be at least another hour. There were no bathrooms, water or places for the elderly to sit. Museum staff were unapologetic. They refused to exchange or refund the $60 tickets or to assist weary elderly patrons. My mother was unable to stand any longer, and we never did get to see the exhibit. In a city with a large senior population, this abusive treatment was disgraceful" (by Alan Kent, Seattle, US).
