London museum status update

Perhaps of interest if you live in the UK or are planning a visit to London in the near future.

British Museum

Just to let everyone know after my recent rant about the telephone handling at the BM, a physical inspection of the British Museum confirms that the Montague Place entrance cloakrooms, where you can store your heavier luggage at £1.00ukp an item, is up and running and happy to oblige. I truly love the British Museum. I just hate their setup of their interactive voice handling kit on the Information line.

Petrie Museum of Egyptian Archaeology

I'm glad to say that the Petrie never brings out a rant in my personality. I posted about the closure of the museum on a temporary basis due to failed heating systems. The good news is that the museum is back up and running with its usual opening times (Tuesday to Friday 13.00 – 17.00, Saturday 11.00 – 14.00).

As a general rule with all museums it is always a VERY wise measure to phone and ask about opening times, gallery closures and facilities that may or may not be available. The web is a wonderful thing but museum websites are not always updated in a timely manner. Hopefully you will eventually get through to a human being when you phone or email :-).
