Photo for Today: Near Eight Bells, Western Desert

Spot the kitchen car.
The camp was being taken down for departure as we headed north.
In the foreground you can see a pile of red mattresses, with
the tents in the stripy white bags to their right and a growing
pile of luggage to the left. All would be arranged with military
precision on the roof racks and tied down for the next leg of the journey.

It is very difficult to see what this photo has to do with egyptology, maybe an idea of the location with a pyramid or some such in the background would help.

You're quite right. Not a pyramid in sight. Not even Eight Bells, for that matter. A big attack of ruthless self indulgence. I'll be back with photos of pyramids, temples and tombs in the next couple of weeks.

Alright Andie, I'll forgive you!
I will be following the progress of the new online magazine with interest.
