The Akhenaton statue has been found!!! Just on the phone to a very excited Mansour Boraik who was so happy to tell me the statue had been found.There are no other sources yet for this story so we don't know where it was found, nor its condition. (It had been reported slightly damaged before it was reported stolen.)

Jane has corrected her post.Her friend had said they expected it to be found. That's why there has been no official confirmation.
