Photograph - Anubis statue in Trafalgar Square

Egyptian Gazette

I would normally have saved this for Saturday Trivia, but the story on the page will change very soon, so it is now or never. The page shows a photograph of the Anubis statue which, ahving been transported up the Thames, is now standing proud in Trafalgar Square in London (U.K.). I have no idea why this little story has captured the public's imagination on a fairly global scale, but it seems to be nearly as popular as the transportation of Ramesses from the forecort of Cairo's main railway station to Giza. Bizarre, given that it is really just a giant 3-d advertising billboard! I have to be in town twice next week, so I shall try to go and inspect it in person. All very silly :-).
