The Supreme Council of Antiquities (SCA) is currently running a competition for children in the governorates of Cairo, Alexandria, Ismailiya, Beni Suef, Luxor and Aswan. Called the 'Golden Pharaoh Children Festival', the competition aims at spreading awareness of the Ancient Egyptian civilization and the Pharaohs. 'We will go to children everywhere to teach them about their ancestors, 'SCA Secretary-General Zahi Hawass said. He added that there would be beach competitions between children, as well as sculpting, cloth- making, jewellery-making and photography workshops. 'The children who manage to build the best Pharanoiac sand statue will get prizes,' said Hawass. There will also be an animated cartoons competition.
