Current World Archaeology Magazine

The February/March edition (CWA 15) carries an article about ancient Egypt: "Egyptologist Nigel Strudwick draws on his excavation at the Theban tomb of a high official, Senneferi, to explore exactly how élite Egyptian tombs worked. He explains that high-class Egyptian tombs worked on three levels, not only symbolically, but also physically: the deeper down underground we go, the further we get into the world of the dead and into the afterlife that was so essential to the Ancient Egyptians."
