Dr. Christian Tutundjian de Vartavan has been appointed as Director of the new Armenian Egyptology Centre of Yerevan State University (Armenia).
The creation of this center, together with this appointment, mark the foundation of Egyptology in Armenia, and was officially announced in the University's journal Yerevani Hamalsaran (University of Yerevan) 1, March 2007, page 1 & 3.
I can't rustle up a website for more information, but I'll keep an eye open for anything else about the new Centre. Best wishes to them.
