Egyptian efforts to support Hosni's nomination for UNESCO post

Minister of culture Farouk Hosni said that he will tour a number of African and European countries within the framework of his campaign to win the UNESCO post.

Moreover, Farouk Hosni will meet soon with his Senegalese and Greek counterparts to discuss a number of cultural issues among them his nomination for the UNESCO post.

The Foreign Ministry and the Ministry of Higher Education will intensify contacts with foreign states to mobilize international support for Hosni's nomination for the UNESCO post in coordination with the Arab embassies.

Minister of High Education and State for Scientific Research Hani Helal is leading Egypt's delegation to the 180th session of the UNESCO Executive Board, which opened in Paris on September 30 and due to run till October 17.

During his stay in Paris Helal posted UNESCO Director-General Koichiro Matsuura on Egypt's vision on supporting the organization's activities in the coming period as well as aspects of cooperation between the two sides in the various fields.

During his stay in Paris, the Egyptian minister of high education discussed with the chairman of UNESCO's Executive Board and the president of UNESCO General Conference a host of issues tabled on the agenda of the current session of the UNESCO's Executive Board.
