Exhibition: British Museum Treasures going to Canada

Suite 101 (Stan Parchin)

The Royal BC Museum in Victoria, British Columbia announced on September 29, 2008 that the Canadian institution will play host to Treasures: The World's Cultures from the British Museum from May 1 to September 30, 2009.

More than 300 artifacts from prehistoric times to the present day illustrate how different cultures have developed and interacted over millennia. The objects on display, artistic, ceremonial, decorative and functional in nature, demonstrate various world civilizations' achievements during the course of thousands of years. . . .

Arranged geographically and chronologically, works from the BM's world-renowned collection, including Egyptian, Greek and Roman antiquities and examples of contemporary art, will be displayed in the RBCM's exhibition hall. Interactive technology will enhance the visitor's understanding of the works on view.
