I'm half way up a Welsh mountain at the moment and the original image, which is much larger than this, is unfortunately on my desktop PC in London. I'll take a close look when I get back next week, but in the meantime it looks very much like it. Some of the hieroglyphs are very indistinct, and the lighting does the hieros no favour with the strong shadows obscuring them, but the ib hieroglyph seems clear enough and the others look like possibilities of a match. If I don't get back to you next week do remind me!
Consider yourself lucky :-). I stay here regularly, a stone's throw from Cader Idris, on the coast, and the number of times it has rained on me both up AND down is ridiculous!
I climbed Liathach up in Torridon in glorious sunshine. Within 5 minutes of reaching a summit, unforecast cloud rolled in that made any thought of the ridge walk sheer folly: it took ages to negotiate a way down. I prefer the mountains in Austria for walking as most of the paths are well marked. Not much connection to Egyptology! CJB
No, I know, but never mind! Nobody else seems to be paying any attention :-). It is disgraceful but in spite of living in Scotland for four years in my 20s, and walking mile upon mile, I never got around to doing a munro! I got lost on the Minfford path on Cader Idris and ended up having to do some seriously scrambling to get to where I needed to be - as you say, the paths could be better marked. I've never been to Austria - too addicted to the sun, in spite of a serious love of north Wales.
This blog was set up in 2004 to aggregate news about Egyptology and related topics from online sources on a regular basis. It was closed finally in September 2013 due to other commitments. It has been left open as an archive, but comments have been disabled.
Kindest regards to all Andie andie {at} oddthing.co.uk
