"The Michael C. Carlos Museum unveiled nearly 150 exquisite new pieces in the exhibition From Pharaohs to Emperors on Jan. 14. From one of the most stunning Roman busts in the world, to a Theban noblewoman’s papyrus scroll that describes the underworld, to Egyptian pieces from everyday royal life, these objects represent a stunning array of artifacts from the ancient world. But more importantly, the pieces are here to stay. The new Egyptian, Near Eastern and classical antiquities are recent permanent additions to the Carlos Collection of Ancient Art. This vast and spectacular collection has not only improved the museum’s already-sterling reputation but has also equipped it with 150 new dimensions of the ancient world."
